Hey, it's Friday: Follow Friday

Q: Have you ever looked at book’s cover and thought, This is going to horrible? But, was instead pleasantly surprised? Show us the cover and tell us about the book.

 Ender's Game
Author: Orson Scott Card
I admit, I don't read si-fi that often. This was required for a class and when I saw the cover I thought it looked like one of those old 80's arcade games... kinda dorky (not that I have anything against 80's arcade games, they rock).  But by the time I finished it I was pleasantly surprised. I actually liked it. And although the main characters are kids I would not call this a kids book at all. Teens and up. Last time I read this was in '08, I'd say I'm due for a re-read. Especially since I hear rumors about a movie involving Harrison Ford.... can't miss a movie involving Han Solo ;)

  5. Hi there :) Thanks for stopping by. I'm now your newest follower!

I've got to say the book looks more like a comic cover from the 70-80's. Great choice.

  13. You see I didn't even think about that cover. I just kinda accepted it as a relic from the time period/genre but I think you have a point.

  14. I love that you described it like an 80's arcade. It's so true! And I do think dorky too, but I'm glad that it was a great book!
